Pelle Ohlsson
I am a microfluidics researcher at the department of Biomedical Engineering at the Technical Faculty (LTH) of Lund University also working with moving cells using sound. Around a decade ago Edith and I started the SoilChip research with a student project in the microfluidics course I am running and since then I have been involved as co-PI and supervisor/co-supervisor of students (Sofia Lam, David Wernbro, Erik Karlsson), PhD students (Carlos Arellano, Micaela Mafla Endara) and postdocs (Kristin Aleklett Kadish, Hanbang Zou). Currently I am mostly involved in the nutrient patch, concrete healing and pathogen detection projects.
Fun facts about me:
What is your favourite microbe?
A: Pseudomonas putida, since they don’t bind to the blood cells I like separating them from (https://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-018-25551-0).
When you were younger, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A: I wanted to become a researcher and used to play around with liquids in my lab, which I still do :-)
What do you look like when you dance?
A: Very bluesy since blues dancing is my favorite dance! 💃🕺
